Effect of supplementary concentrate feeding to lambs on the growth performance and body morphometry

A study was conducted to evaluate the effect of feeding concentrate suckling lambs on their performance. Experiment comprised 40 day old having 1.56 kg average birth weight, with 20 female and male selected randomly from flocks four farmers in village Mundida, Odisha. The were divided into two experimental groups so that each group consisted 10 equal numbers females. Group 1 (Control) maintained grazing only, while 2, balanced mixture supplemented addition grazing. Concentrate 2nd fortnight upto 6th age. Body daily gain recorded upto14th ofage. measurements at every interval. Either or body weight did not differ significantly till fortnight, upon supplementation 2 showed higher weights 3rd end observation stage (14th fortnight). differences between observed only after commencement which resulted values for 4th 5th last fortnight. Results revealed weeks a period 8 improved reduces cost lamb production.
